Bob Seger is set to release a compilation album (double disc!) spanning his career. Seger is planning to release "Ultimate Hits: Rock and Roll Never Forgets" on November 21st, 2011. The songs will be re-mastered and also available via iTunes and Amazon, marking the first time Seger material available online.

Austria's The Sorrow have inked a new record deal with Napalm Records! These guys have been a great driving force in Austria's metalcore scene and have a 4th LP in the works, scheduled for a early 2012 release. The Sorrow's self titled album was the last LP released on December 7th, 2010 via Artoffact Records.

Toronto based metal group Mastery is set to hit the studio and complete their next LP (title and release date yet to be released).
According to a press release, the band "fuses the blazing aggression of hardcore thrash with the technical prowess of progressive metal, leaving fans with a balls-out assault that relives the majesty of old school metal with a sense of originality."

As I Lay Dying/Austrian Death Machine vocalist Tim Lambesis has hinted at a potential collaboration project between his self made Austrian Death Machine project and Germany's Heaven Shall Burn.
Tim tweeted the following message to followers:

"Old Ideas" is the title for the latest upcoming release from music legend Leonard Cohen. This is the first time in over seven years that Cohen has released new material. "Old Ideas" is expected for an early 2012 release, but no official date yet. Cohen is hoping to tour this album but is uncertain of the future past the album. I guess we will have to wait and see.
