The Empire Shall Fall have shed some light into their plans for 2011/2012:
“Hello all!
We are excited to bring you some details about the release of Volume 1. We can now happily say that it will be released digitally on Tuesday, December 6th (via iTunes and other digital music outlets). The vinyl will not be completed pressing until the end of December, but we didn’t want to make our fans (who have all been so supportive) wait anymore. All those who preordered will be emailed the download code several days prior to December 6th release as a thank you for your preorder and as compensation for the delay of the vinyl.
Once we have the vinyl we will ship all the preorders (with all T-shirts, Hoodies, etc). Due to the special nature of this release we will not be taking orders for any vinyl from December 6th until the preorders ship. We will also stop taking preorders at the end of November; November 30th will be your last day to preorder at the discounted prices and package deals. We have worked very hard on this first installment and cannot wait to share it with you.
A new album release also means something else: new show dates! For the first time since September of 2010 we will be taking the stage starting in January. Brooklyn has always been kind to us, so we are pleased to say that our first show back will be there on January 6th. Below is a list of a few tentative dates (more info and more dates to be released later). Any questions regarding booking can be directed to TESFbooking@gmail.com.
January 6th-Brooklyn, New York
January 7th-Kearny, New Jersey
January 13th-Providence, RI
January 14th-Boston, MA
Finally, we are working on Volume 2 (and Volume 3). In the preliminary stage we can safely say that Volume 2 will be a heavier record (this is intentional, and goes with the concept). We have most of the songs in their skeletal structure, and over the next few months hope to polish things up so we can be recording in the spring (this time hopefully with a faster turn around!).
We are excited to finally bring some new music to everyone, and would like to thank everyone who has helped us, especially with this particular endeavor, and we hope to see you at a show in 2012!

A statement was released by Coheed and Cambria recently to announce the return of their drummer, Josh Eppard:
"We didn't originally plan to make a big splash about this, but when Chris made his announcement, we were ultimately compelled to. We didn't want anyone to be concerned about the state of the band, and trying to keep things quiet was proving to be really tough. And besides, we're just really excited and wanted to share that feeling with you.
Chris Pennie is a dear friend, a superb bandmate and one of the best drummers in the world. He brought a workmanship and sense of professionalism to COHEED that completely improved us as a band, and allowed us to reach new heights. He will always be a member of the COHEED family, and we ask you to support all his endeavors.
As the songs for the new record began twisting into shape, it slowly became apparent that these songs were very dynamic, and could truly flourish with the groove-oriented approach that Josh naturally brings to the table. We also missed Josh as a person — what he meant to us as friends and the energy and humor he exudes. But this isn't about nostalgia; it's about who we are now, and what we can achieve musically and as a family, together going forward.
We understand there are risks involved bringing Josh back into the fray. Even with his two years of sobriety, this is a giant leap of faith on our part. But at the end of the day, we have all grown up, and we have all been through so much, that playing with Josh again is sort of like coming home. It's comfortable, it's familiar, it just feels right… it's hand in glove.
Last week, we entered Applehead Studios with Michael Birnbaum and Chris Bittner to begin work on our sixth studio album. We're three songs in, can't wait to share it."
