I was fortunate enough to grab a ticket to their last tour where they rocked the shit out of the Sound Academy! Makes up for the performance at Heavy TO last year where sound problems arose and forcing them off the stage early in order to correct the issue.

Nonetheless, they always have a great supporting lineup when it comes to their headlining tours. Last year we saw The Damned Things and this year was no different/worse as we get to see HELLYEAH and ICED EARTH get the blood pumping for the eager rockabilly fans!
For those who aren't aware (and yes, there are some people out there who still don't know these guys), Heallyeah is a power band consisting of various members from Pantera, Mudvayne and Nothingface. Yeah, all that packed into one band just screams METAL!
The boys will also be touring in support of a new album, "Band of Brothers", which is set for a July 17th, 2012 release via Eleven Seven Music.

Which leaves us to our longest running band of the three. Iced Earth have been molding and delivering their sound since 1991 when guitarist Jon Schaffer dropped the debut self titled album "Iced Earth". Keep in mind that this project has been in the hands of Mr. Schaffer and has seen numerous lineup changes, including Judas Priest vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens, Matt Barlow, and many other notable musicians. Either way, no matter who you see on stage, Schaffer's presence is a constant reminder of the dedication and perseverance this band has to continue pushing albums, touring the shit out of them and making sure their fans remember who they are.
Iced Earth will be touring in support of their latest album, "Dystopia", which you can check below:
1. Dystopia
2. Anthem
3. Boiling Point
4. Anguish of Youth
5. V
6. Dark City
7. Equilibrium
8. Days of Rage
9. End of Innocence
10. Tragedy and Triumph

Final thoughts? I'm going to have to make my way to the Kool Haus to see what Iced Earth is all about since I haven't had the pleasure of seeing them yet. The other two are a guaranteed good time with non stop energy, dancing, and maybe a couple elbows in the mosh pit from time to time. Personally, as much as I an eager to see all three awesome bands, Vinnie Paul's presence behind that drum kit is sure to make any metal head instantly wanna bang your head and raise those horns!

Found some footage of the show last night. Thanks to those who had a steady enough hand to catch some of the rowdiness that was the Kool Haus last night:
