May the 4th be with you all! This is the day most nerds (which I consider myself to be pragmatic in) and fans of Star Wars to celebrate the last few decades of wonder that George Lucas and his crew brought us. One of the bigger aspects of the movies was the music, which had composing legend John Williams at the helm. His awards are endless. Dating back to 1972, when he was nominated for The Poseidon Adventure, Williams has been a major player in the musical score world, but we all remember him best for his legendary work in Star Wars.
So in honour of May 4th, I have posted a few tributes. Let's start with the classic "Imperial March", which was the musical theme for Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, as well as the rest of the Star Wars franchise films. This was performed by the Prague Film Orchestra in 2010.
The following songs are what we have today. While Williams is hard at work doing musical scores for the newest installment of the Star Wars franchise (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), others have given their own tribute to the well known music. The following videos are from YouTube sensation The Piano Guys, and from electro/industrial composer Celldweller. Cheers and be sure to pop in your favourite Star Wars film today!
