This section of AFGM is reserved for a few questions that have been brought to my attention over the past few years.  This is also a great way for me to know what I am doing right/wrong with the site and what I can use AFGM for.  More FAQs will be added as the need for them grows.


WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU PROMOTE HERE?

AFGM has been keen on promoting ALL genres of music.  While myself and other bloggers on this site have their specific genres they excel in (classic rock, hard rock, metal, jazz, blues, etc), we do not hinder people from sharing music they love and enjoy.


CAN I WORK FOR AFGM?

So something else I have been keen on making sure people are aware.  This site does not make a profit!  Well, that's being a little misleading.  AFGM has advertisements on it's websites (via Google) for promotion (if it's a product you like/want/need).  AFGM pulls in small number (and I am talking cents...maybe dollars).  So what I offer instead is a bartering system.

I offer a platform to host your skills.  My initial goal was to have traffic flow coming to the site, not funds.  Now that we have hit the 250K mark for page views (and other social media), I offer folks a chance to dab into the industry like others gave me a shot at doing.  So if you feel you have some creative writing skills, expert music knowledge, journalism, photography, video, or anything else you think could improve AFGM then be sure to contact us!  You will receive full credit for any work you donate to the cause.  Hit us up at afgallaghermusic@gmail.com or any of the social media outlets.


I HAVE A BAND!  CAN I PROMOTE WITH YOU?

We do our best to promote good quality music and artists.  While I know it's a tough job to try and sell your band as something bigger/better than everyone else out there, we try to give fans new music to try out and potentially like.  So how can we do that if we don't have new music to showcase?  So the answer is most definitely YES!

Now the other side of that coin is effort of the band and members.  We want to promote quality music which means YOU have to create quality music.  It's a 'help me to help you' kind of mentality.  AFGM's small amount of criteria is:

- Have a band/artist name (duh!)
- Some quality photos (professional/semi-professional)
- Decent quality music to promote (studio quality material)
- An Electronic Press Kit (EPK) is an asset
- A link to a website or some form of site to check out your band
- Social media outlets are an asset


THERE ARE LINKS/VIDEOS/SONGS ON YOUR ARTICLES THAT DON'T WORK.  WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?

All links/videos/songs are fully functioning when I post an article.  Unfortunately over time, some of those links become dead or the URL has been switched, making the embedded code useless on the article.  The only way I find out about these problems is by going through each individual article.  I really rely on my readers at this point to give me the heads up when something isn't working.  If you find an issue with the articles or the site in general then please contact us right away and cite the URL link/article.  AFGM will try to have it restored as quickly as possible.


DO YOU DO PHOTOGRAPHY FOR ARTISTS AND MUSICIANS?

Hell yes!  In fact, I love taking photos of bands either at shows or in a studio so if you are looking for some promotional photos, a photo review of your local show, or some personal ones for your band then hit me up!  I am very well priced as compared to other photographers (more because I don't consider myself a pro-photographer) and will likely give you a great deal if you help to promote AFGM.  Contact us for details!


WHY ARE YOU SO BIG ON THE "TROLL FREE" ASPECT?

If you don't have something nice to say (constructive or not) then don't any anything at all.  If you got an opinion then back it up!
