Discovered the guys in a small bar in London, ON as they were touring with Haste The Day and Scary Kids Scaring Kids (Sept. 18th, 2006). Still touring "Thrill Seeker" material and with "Messengers" still a ways ahead, I was drawn in by the almost precise breakdown of the groups and the fan base that erupted in this venue. Maybe that the metalcore genre was still new to me, but I did not expect the band to blow up as big as they did. One of those little things in life where you get to see a band in raw form before heading on to bigger and better things. The release date set for the album is June 25th, 2013 via longtime label Solid State Records. A press release has been made by the label as well:
Rescue & Restore marks August Burns Red’s fifth proper album, fleshing out an impressive body of work that also includes a live full-length record Home, a collection of B-sides Lost Messengers: The Outtakes, and a 2012 holiday album, August Burns Red Presents: Sleddin' Hill, A Holiday Album, released over the band’s lauded decade-long career. Since launching out of Manheim, PA, the industrious outfit has successfully transitioned from shake-up-the-field upstarts to one of the biggest names worldwide in the genre. -Solid State Records

"People need to realize that there’s not much of a difference between a metalcore song that has a couple breakdowns with a repeating chorus and the latest LADY GAGA song. This genre used to be better than that. It can still be better than that." -JB Brubaker
Rescue & Restore is about challenging other bands and ourselves, as well as fans of this music, to want more than whatever happens to be the current buzz. We’ve done our best with each new album to try to push our sound in new directions and we’d like to see our peers do the same. -JB Brubaker
I also invite you all to grab a ticket to their show if they hit your town this summer. The guys have an extensive touring lineup for 2013 and the shows are always a good time. Some good moshpits, decent concert goers, little to no drama and the best part... it's usually too packed for those 'throwdown' dancing kids. I don't know the official term for it (if you know the term...that's just sad) but you know those kids who have little to no muscle who fling their arms and legs in a circle to exert some form of masculinity. haha
More information as it comes in folks. For now, pre-orders are happening already! Here is the selection they have over at their official store:
