So of course, when running your own blog solo it can be tough to keep up with the s**tload of stuff that comes across our ears over a weekend! Some good, some bad, some not even worth mentioning. I guess that's how I use AFGM in general. These articles that I go through everyday from various sites (Blabbermouth,. Bravewords, AV Club, Music News, MissInfo, Billboard, Rolling Stone, etc.) and sort of "filter" some of the nonsense news such as the latest fashion design, who's got beef with who and who ISN'T doing music...still.
These articles brought forth are for a few different reasons:
1. They are relevant music information that pertains to you as a reader, no matter the level of intent or the genre.
2. They are relevant to the music I would be currently listening to or a genre I have put some attention and focus on.
3. I am somewhat patriotic about my Canadian music, so that always comes as a first for me. I enjoy music from all parts of the world respectively, but I still have to promote local if I can. Canadian music rocks!
4. Because it's humourous and we can ALWAYS use a good laugh. Rarely will it be at someone's expense...but then again I am just the guy talking about it. They're the ones causing the comments.
So in closing, I trust you all will not read EVERY single article posted here. But I hope you find something of use here and keep the conversation going by forwarding it onto someone else. Click on each article heading for redirection to the full article. Cheers!

Palms (Deftones, Ex-Isis) Debut New Song “Patagonia”:
"Palms are a collaboration between Deftones' Chino Moreno and three members of defunct doomgaze titans Isis, and unless you stopped paying attention to Deftones some time around their own shark week, it makes perfect sense: Moreno has continuously attempted to make his music both prettier and heavier, whether with his own band, the trip-hop one-off Team Sleep, or his well-meaning witch house project. 'Patagonia' is the first single from their debut (due out June 25 on Ipecac), and it fits squarely between the two camps, imagining either the most patient and expansive parts of Koi No Yokan or a more accessible cut from Wavering Radiant."

Rolling Stones offer lower-priced tickets as tour kicks off:
"The new batch of $85 tickets could land fans in the stage-side pit or another area of the arena. However, the number of new tickets available at each stop will be determined the day of the concert, after the band's staging and production is loaded in. Consequently, the seat locations will only be revealed when a buyer actually picks up his or her tickets the night of the show. The tickets must be bought in pairs."
LL COOL J's 'Authentic' Featuring EDDIE VAN HALEN Now Available:
"This album was born out of my true love for music and I knew Eddie shared that same vision for authentic music. I approached this song with the utmost respect for Eddie and his fans, and became friends with him through the process. I was humbled to watch a genius at work and collaborate with such a legendary and visionary artist as Eddie Van Halen, and to bring our two worlds together was an exciting opportunity. I am thrilled he was up for the ride." -LL Cool J

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH To Release Double Album In Two Installments:
"We came off the road after a couple of great years of touring and were really amped up to write the fourth record. Everybody was in the right headspace and the band tighter than ever so it was a perfect storm. We jumped in head first and found ourselves 12-13 songs deep fairly quick but were still coming up with better and better material so we looked at each other and said... OK, why stop there?... Let's keep going. Once we passed the 24th song, we knew we're going to have to do a double album. We had this massive amount of music that's very dear to us, possibly the best material this band has ever created. At that point there was no way to decide which songs to leave off the album. So we made the decision to release them all." -Zoltan Bathory
Alien Ant Farm Streaming New Song “Let ‘Em Know”:
"I think the new songs fit. The core of the songs, regardless of genre, sound very much like what Alien Ant Farm has done in the past. The use of synths and the four-on-the-floor kick drum pattern would be the only thing that would really stand out against the rest of our material." -Tye Zamora
Blogs Of War: Don’t Be A Jesse Person Or A Howard Person. Be A Killswitch Engage Person:
"On the Saturday afternoon, over on the second stage in a slot that they’d be more likely to command on the main stage in any other year, Killswitch Engage walked out to begin their first ever UK show with Jesse Leach."
Throwdown Headed To The Studio Next Week:
“It’s really exciting, if not a little nerve-wracking to be recording again. It has been almost 4 years since ‘Deathless‘ came out, which is about twice as long as the time between albums before it. While that has probably been annoying for fans that have been waiting and expecting a new record, it has also been the best thing for the writing process for the new album.
I’m really meticulous when writing and arranging even the simplest riffs and songs, so I like to take my time. It has been strange and nice having the freedom to come back to a song or part several weeks later with a different perspective after hitting a wall with it.
We’re taking a very minimalist approach with these songs, more like Vendetta and (the first half of) Haymaker. I avoid putting the cart before the horse, but I see the songs on the record coming out stripped down and yet still refined. A two-minute song can arrive at the same place as one that fucks around for six, and while it’s more challenging to get there in less time, it is a lot cooler when you do. I’ve been going back to that when I find myself maybe adding parts or lines that are at risk of being superfluous.
I’m very proud of ‘Deathless‘ and all the work that went into it, but it wasn’t a record that Throwdown fans expected. It was really polarizing on account of that. I’m simply not looking to continue down that stylistic road with these songs. This is going to be a hard record. I look forward to making it as much for myself as for longtime fans of the band.” -Dave Peters
