Ill Nino: Epidemia

"How can I live without" Ill Nino?! haha

I just love these guys.  Even though they get a lot of flack for producing 'nu-metal' as some would call it, I always love the Latin influences these guys bring to the table.  I am fortunate to have seen them once (London, ON @ Centennial Hall), opening for Disturbed when they were touring through Canada and WOW did that band and crowd put on a hell of a display.

Christian vocals, Dave's drumming, and basically the whole band was top notch and gave 110% energy.  The crowd responded likewise with some pretty large moshpits and crowd surfers.  Now that I got wind that they were putting out another album at the end of 2012, I had to jump on this one!

Ill Nino is:

Cristian Machado – lead vocals | Dave Chavarri – drums | Daniel Couto – percussion | Lazaro Pina – bass | Ahrue Luster – lead guitar | Diego Verduzco – rhythm guitar

"It's 2012 and we're all still alive.  It’s time to redefine Latin metal." -Cristian Machado

As Christian put it, 2012 is the year for Ill Nino to go out strong and bring the band back into the spotlight after their 2010, highly reviewed release "Dead New World" (released on October 25th, 2010) and partially received album "Enigma".  Well, regardless what the trollers online thought of it, I liked the album(s), more specifically their Smashing Pumpkins cover of "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" and their single "Against The Wall":

Anyways, onto new endeavours.  Ill Nino's latest album, "Epidemia", will be released on October 22nd, 2012 via Victory Records (almost exactly 2 years since their last release).  So far, the boys have dropped a music video for the self titled song, artwork and a track listing to go along with it, which you can check out below:

"We're totally psyched that we are now working with Victory Records. The first Ill Nino release on Victory will be brutal, angry, tribal, percussive, dark, and full of hooks!" -Dave Chavarri

Can't wait to hear what the second album off Victory will be like.  From what fans have gathered so far, they're in for a treat. :-)

1. The Depression
2. Only The Unloved
3. La Epidemia
4. Eva
5. Demi-God
6. Death Wants More
7. Escape
8. Time Won't Save You
9. Forgive Me Father...
10. Invisible People

For a full album listen, Loudwire has been given an exclusive stream for the ENTIRE LP.  Check it out while its online.

"This time around, we want to explore Latin and tribal rhythms we have never explored in the past five releases, giving us no musical boundaries at all." -Dave Chavarri
