Music Vault

Have any of you had the chance to check out Music Vault yet?  With probably one of the largest collections of concerts and live performances on the internet (I believe something to the tune of 17,000+), I felt like a kid in a candy store when taking my first look at the website.  Seeing Neil Young live in 1994 was the first video I came across and watched.  Then Counting Crows (circa 2012), then Albert King (circa 1970), and Metallica (circa 1999) before I had to give my eyes a break.

Music Vault describes themselves as such:

"Music Vault presents the greatest selection of exclusive live performances from legendary artists and your new favorite bands. With exclusive concert footage from artists like The Who, Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead, James Brown, and Bruce Springsteen, and popular indie acts like Deer Tick, Dawes, and Local Natives, Music Vault is the #1 destination for live music video online. Our new videos and playlists are hand-curated and added daily from the largest live music collection in the world. Experience it all. "

And I sure have been experiencing it all.  From what I have read, the site was originally on a subscription basis ($3.99/month), but now have opened the flood gates [so to speak] and can stream top quality performances right from their homepage (or YouTube)!  While I can't really show you their entire selection of artists, here is a quick snapshot of the glossary to choose from:

As stated in the paragraph above, Music Vault made headlines a couple months ago when they made their press release and handing over many of the videos to YouTube for more exposure and playback for fans/customers.

"There are probably a couple that will fall out because we still need to go through and scrub for quality.  We do the best we can with the masters we’re given, but for something 50 years old that’s been sitting in a 90-degree garage -- which we occasionally get -- the quality is not good enough to put up." -Bill Sagan (CEO of Wolfgang's Vault, the music and memorabilia archive that includes Music Vault along with Concert Vault, Pastemagazine.com, and Daytrotter.com.)

OK, so maybe one video to get you into the website and what they have to offer.  Cheers and be sure to check em out!
