The band YES are one of the pioneers of progressive rock. Hailing from England, YES are known for their
lengthy compositions and mystical lyrics. YES were formed in 1968 and have went through many line-up
changes over the years.
They have been known for the vocal work of Jon Anderson, and with an amazing musicians like guitarists Steve Howe, Peter Banks, Billy Sherwood and Trevor Rabin. Bassist Chris Squire, along with great drummers like Bill Bruford and Alan White. Keyboardists as well like Tony Kaye, Rick Wakeman, Oliver Wakeman, Patrick Moraz, Geoff Downes and Igor Khoroshev. YES have also worked with vocalist Trevor Horn, who worked with the band for one album before leaving to go into Producing. The band have had their personnel issues, with members leaving due to not getting along with other band members.
One album called ‘Union’ was recorded with all the members that worked with YES together for one album and tour. Jon Anderson is no longer with the band, leaving due to health issues and was replaced by a Canadian vocalist named Benoit David, but this year Benoit David left the band and was replaced by Jon Davison.
It has been announced that YES are touring again in 2013 with the line-up of Jon Davison (vocals/guitars), Steve Howe (guitars), Chris Squire (bass), Alan White (drums) along with Geoff Downes (keyboards). During this tour the band will be performing three of their older (but classic) albums, from start to finish. The albums they are performing are ‘The Yes Album’, ‘Close to the Edge’ and ‘Going for the One’.
