Avenged Sevenfold - Hail to the King

Well enough time I feel has passed without fans and critics saying "ohhh gees, another A7X album?"  Well, I'm not sure if everyone will be saying that.  Far from it now that I sit back and think about it a little more rationally.  I only share sour grapes because I personally had a hard time coming around to their last album "Nightmare", even with my main man Mike Portnoy behind the drums.  Needless to say, I still cranked the album, went to the show, bought the shirt, etc.

So rumors have been circling for the past few weeks about new material and a new tour from the Huntington Beach five piece, and even had a few snippets of teaser material from the group themselves...

So that being said, let's dive into what info has been released thus far.  The new album is titled "Hail to the King" and will be released on August 27th, 2013 via Warner Bros. Records (big name labels eh!).

1. Shepherd of Fire
2. Hail to the King
3. Doing Time
4. This Means War
5. Requiem
6. Crimson Day
7. Heretic
8. Coming Home
9. Planets
10. Acid Rain
11. Hail to the King (*Deluxe Version bonus)
12. St. James (*Deluxe Version bonus)

The album is being produced by Mike Elizondo, who also worked on their previous album "Nightmare", along with other musicians such as Maroon 5, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Mastodon, Tegan & Sara, and more!  So, y'all want a single?

Check out the music video for their self titled debut single, "Hail to the King":

Senses heightened yet?  I know a few of my friends and family reading this are more than likely salivating by now.  Keep in mind this is also the first album to not feature material written by the late drummer James "The Rev" Sullivan.  M. Shadows had a few choice words when asked about the new album and the drum tracks:

"We had a decision to make on this one.  The decision was, okay, do we just make a record that everyone expects us to make, or do we just move forward and make another, different record that we feel more comfortable with, and we chose the latter. So right now we're looking forward to doing something new and exciting and fresh, and hopefully people give it a shot and like it." -Shadows

More info as it comes in folks.  Cheers!
