PSH

While I opened the newspaper this morning and read about the untimely death of beloved actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, critics and journalists flood to their computers to remember their best performances by the late actor.  Some said Capote, others said Patch Adams (which I almost agree).  Despite the fact that this guy had a wide range of acting skills and personalities to fit those roles, I remember PSH portraying the notorious Lester Bangs in the 2000 hit Almost Famous.

His no bullshit attitude and quick remarks on the music indistry made PSH an ideal condidate for such a role.  And since this is a music website, I'd like to think of this as my tribute to the late actor.

"Music, you now, true music - not just rock n roll - it chooses you. It live in your car, or alone listening to your headphones, you know, with the cast scenic bridges and angelic choirs in your brain. It's a place apart from the vast, benign lap of America."
-PSH (as Lester Bangs)
