The Great Fires of Bleeding Through

For over 10+ years now, Bleeding Though have been ripping and shredding their way through the Orange Country music scene and in turn, North America as well.  The hardcore six piece group have a chance to show off their new material on their upcoming tour, which will support their latest release "The Great Fire".  This is Bleeding Through's 7th studio album to date.

Bleeding Through is an American heavy metal band from Orange County, California. Formed in 1999, the band blends influences stemming from modern hardcore punk, symphonic black metal, and melodic death metal. Although the band is often labeled as simply metalcore, when Brandan Schieppati was asked if he considers Bleeding Through a hardcore band, he said: "I think we're a hardcore band and I'll never say we are a metal band, we're all hardcore kids and we came from the hardcore scene. Ours is just a different version of hardcore, we're trying to do something which adds a different variety to the hardcore scene, which has been sounding the same way for so long."

The band planned to write and record their seventh studio album once they come back from touring. They planned to release the yet to be titled album anywhere from mid to late 2011, which bassist Ryan Wombacher explained in a November 2010 interview:

"Maybe mid-year; safe to say towards the end but not at the end, maybe like eight months or something like that. Best thing about it is we’re going to do it whenever we want to do it. There is no deadline right now, we don’t have any dates set, we don’t have the studio, we’re going to do the record ourselves. So we will literally go in and record it and it will be probably be done before we sign a contract."

On November 14, 2011, the band announced that the name of their new record would be called "The Great Fire".  On November 30, 2011, the band announced that "The Great Fire" was complete and was released through Rise Records on January 31, 2012.

A few comments have been made by guitarist Dave Nassie (taken from About.com Interview with Chad Bower) about the recording and producing of the new album:

Why did the band decide to self-produce this one?

We have made records for a long time, all of us individually. Brandan and the rest of the members have a clear vision of what the record should sound like. We all do, we just felt the need to be more involved ourselves this time. I feel it was a good choice and crucial for the development of the band.

Was the production a collaborative process, or did one or two members do most of it?

Brandan, Brian, and myself wrote most of the songs. Like I said though, with it being so easy this time, everyone really contributed! We would come back to the studio and hear a part that maybe Ryan added or Marta. We just let everyone be themselves and we were all very supportive and constructive of each other. It made for a strong collaborative effort.

How would you describe the sound/vibe of the album?

Over the top and very heavy. It has the best elements from previous albums and mixes it with what we all listen to and would want to hear in a BT record. We tried to just do something we felt we could all be proud of and listen to. I think we have achieved both what we wanted and what people have to come to expect from past records.

What are your upcoming tour plans?
We have some shows that we are doing the week of the release and our putting together our year now. We are all very excited to tour and get these songs out there for people to hear.
