OK, lets get back to local here. I have done an article prior to this in regards to a great local act called THE UNCHAINED. Now for those who haven't been following these guys in the past, three of the band members used to belong to a notable hard rock group called "Easy Sleezy". Long story short, creative differences brought them to different paths in life and they disbanded. That did not stop Ryan, Mike and Ange to get back in the studio, hook up some instruments and finish an LP they have worked day and night on. Eventually, this album was going to see the light of day.
When hitting up the first Unchained show @ legendary The Horseshoe Tavern (click for photos here), I managed to grab a copy of this album before the performance. These guys wanted to showcase not only their talents as an instrumental band, but also wanted to show the time and effort they put into this album and thus, HEROINME was released that night.

Now since these guys are dear friends of mine, I couldn't wait to pop it in the CD player. I must admit that from this perspective, it seems very biased of me to recommend this album to others. So how about I put it into a different light. If I was still working at my good ol music store (CD Plus Canada), I would be leaning people towards this album. All in all, this is a nonstop, great rocking album with amazing amounts of energy you can feel the musicians channeling through their instruments. With and Ange and Mike ripping on their guitars and Ryan blasting away on his drum kit, the opening track "Help" will leave you yearning (and yes, I used that term haha) for more. I felt it was a great was to show off previous material that these guys have accomplished and will continue to make in THE UNCHAINED.
Anyways, these guys have some shows coming up around town, with their newest addition (Fitz) on bass guitar. Go check em out, buy the CD, show some love online. I (personally) cannot wait to hear the first EP and/or LP from them.
