Gigantour 2013

So Dave Mustaine has taken his time to carefully select a new string of dates and performers for this year's Gigantour, which was missed in 2009 and 2010.  Hand picked by Mustaine himself (like most of the bands on the past cycles of the tour) to deliver a fresh injection of both old and new bands in the current industry.  You can check out the star studded lineup below.

Now the tiger is what made me chuckle a little.  Not that I have a hate on for this tour, but for some reason I just got the vibe of Zach Galifianakis here.  Dave has got to remember that tiger LOVE pepper, but hate cinnamon.

OK, jokes aside the tour looks pretty decent.  I have some mixed feelings on a couple of the groups such as Device and Death Division but you can never go wrong with a healthy dose of BLS or Megadeth.  Considered to be staples of the rock/metal industry, the ticket prices of $40-$87 don't seem that expensive. Even if you did purchase the best seats in the place, you're essentially paying $15 for each performance over the span of roughly 6-7 hours of tunes.  Not a bad deal at all.

Here are the tour dates, with Canadian dates in bold.

07/03 Gilford, NH – Meadowbrook
07/05 Uncasville, CT – Mohegan Sun Arena

So if you haven't found the right tour to put your hard earned cash into, this seems like a decent win for metal fans.  You get your long standing groups like Megadeth and BLS, but you also get some new life such as Disturb-vice (ooops!) or Newsted so good for both the old and new rocker.  Most tickets go on sale on Thursday, May 16th at 10am (EST).  Cheers and see you out there!

Now wondering if Mustaine and Draiman will be doing some live material together.  Both guys have confirmed their collaboration for Megadeth's new album "Super Collider", so there's a good chance it can happen.  More info as it comes in!
